Walton-in-Gordano can have up to five Councillors. If, at election time, no more than five people are nominated for election, the nominees are deemed elected without an election taking place. If there are fewer than five Councillors, additional Council Members can be co-opted by application and interview, and have the same rights, privileges, and responsibilities as elected members. They will serve until the next election falls due, and can then put themselves forward for re-election as an elected member.

We employ a part-time Clerk, who is also the Responsible Financial Officer.

The Civil Parish of Walton-in-Gordano lies within the Gordano Valley Ward of the Unitary Authority, North Somerset Council. Our Ward Councillor is Nigel Ashton.
